GHB and new features.

If you have subscribed to GHB then you will already know that we are constantly updating and adding new features. We are quite proud of the fact that we tend to release an updated version every 4 to 6 week.

Each new upgrade always includes improvements to existing options along with new features, which are normally a mix of our own ideas and suggestions/requests from users.

Here are two examples of what I mean.

Normally in “auto” mode you can select runners by their “Rank”. This is based on the runner’s price. The 1st ranked runner would be the best priced or the favourite.

Using this method you can select runners purely based on their price in the betting, which seems the most logical way of selecting runners in “auto” mode, which is why we use it.

But we had several request to from users to have a “bet by index” options. In horse racing by rank is generally the index order anyway, but sometimes the 2nd runner in the list does become the favourite, so it could be useful there but I think the main reason we were asked for it though was for Greyhounds.

Betfair lay the out this market by trap numbers rather than price. You could select “Index 1” which will allow you to bet on “Trap 1” only. There are a lot of greyhound systems about that use 1 trap only, so this would be useful for people who run those systems.

I suppose you could also use it for the football market because I am sure on most occasions, the home team are in index position 1.

So we have put an option in that was asked for by subscribers. We have also put in an option which we felt would be useful, called “Shadow”.

Again this is an auto feature.  What it does, is allow you to select a runner as a guide, rather than to actually bet on.

To explain let me use the “sum of odds” function.

Briefly this function up to now has allowed you to tell GHB to only bet if the total odds of the runners selected were either => or<= to a certain number, but the problem is that GHB up to now you could not select which one of the runners selected for the calculation to bet on.

With “shadow” that is no longer a problem. You can now use the above scenario but select the 1st runner as a “shadow”. GHB will still look at the odds of this runner but only bet on the 2nd favourite if the odds meet your combined criteria. You can use any runner as a “shadow” just as you can use any to bet on.

Both of these new features available in V3.3 which is available now.
