GHB Version 3.3 release info.

Firstly I hope you have a prosperous and happy New Year.

I was hoping to send this email out before Christmas but we have been working on the new members area and a couple of issues meant we couldn't go live until now.

Many of you will have already downloaded the new version but just in case we have now launched V3.3 of GHB. You can download it from the members area if your subscription is still current.

You may have also notice that we are starting to use new graphics. We are beginning a re-brand of Sporting Bots and our products and introducing the new "bot" icon. We have also updated the members area to include some new features which we hope you will appreciate.

We have now introduced a "bonus" page in the members area which includes items that you can either download straight away of have purchase for an extremely reduced price. The longer you continue as a member the more discounts and products will become available. We are working with many sites who recommend GHB to increase the number of bonuses that are available to users.

We have also introduced an award scheme where you can get discounts on your membership cost for refering friends or adding testimonials. So if you are currently subscribing to GHB it is worth logging into the members area and see all the new information and collect your bonuses.

Of course these site updates do not mean we haven't been working hard on GHB and the new feature list. V3.3 has some great new ones which include, "shadow betting", rank by index, stop profit/loss based on % of bank, to name a few. Please have a look at the "what's new" section.

One last thing.

I wondered if you would take a few minutes and fill out a survey for me. It won't take that long to complete and it would help us to understand a little more about the people who read our information.

Thank-you in advance if you do decide to help us.

Can I take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas and Prosporous New Year.

Best Regards

Idea of the Month

It is well published that Betfair prices give an accurate value to the runners chance of winning. If this is the fact then surely if can getter a better price, then in theory overtime we should make money.

Let's us say that a runner with the price of 2.00 has an "evens" chance of winning. Overtime (could be a long time) we should have an equal number of winners as losers but we would lose in the end because everytime we won, we would have to pay Betfair's commission.

So we would need to get a better price than the one available at the off to have any chance of winning. If we take Betfair's SP as our base line we could immediately in running ask for a better price. With a sufficient better price and enough matched bets we could find ourself's in profit.

There are a couple of things that you do need to be made aware of.

1. It would be very difficult to find enough runners trading exactly at 2.00, but you could look for say 1.90 to 2.10, which may be ok.

2. You may not get matched all the time.

You will have to decide whether you will back or lay but in theory it shouldn't matter.

You could easily try this experiment with GHB in the following way.

1. Set GHB in Auto Mode.

2. Set your price range on the lay/back tab of your choosing.

3. Select "odds type" as SP

4. SP % I would suggest at least 6% because we need to beat Betfair's 5%, but you may want to try 10% and see what happens.

All other settings would be to your choice but GHB will look for a runner between the price range and if it finds one from SP it will put a bet in the market with the % difference you selected immediately the race goes in-running.

You could use this idea in many ways where you just try to get value.

Let me know how you get on if you decide to play around with this idea, or if you have any comments regarding my explanation of the experiment.

Lesson of the month:

Shadow betting.

As this is a new feature of GHB I thought it would be a good idea to explain it in a little more detail.

let us say you only wanted to lay the favourite but only if the combined odds of the favourite and the second favourite were less than 4.00. You select the favourite as the runner you want to bet on and as normal set the price range you will accept, but now you can select the second favourite as a "shadow" bet. If your criteria is met then GHB will only bet on the favourite. This feature allows you to use any combinations of runners to create a betting scenario.

If we go into a little more detail we can see how this works. GHB's "sum of odds" function works perfectly in unison with shadow betting as it allows you to trigger a bet if the odds are <= (less than or equal to) or >= (more than or equal to) your requirements.

So let us consider the scenario where we only want to bet on the favourite if the combined odds of the first and second favourite were under 4.0

We would set "sum of odds" to <= 4.00.

Using the "Bet on Rank" auto feature, we would tick "bet 1st" but we would then choose "shwd" on 2nd. GHB would now monitor the market but only bet on the 1st (favourite) if the combined odds of the 1st and 2nd were 4.00 or under.

You can use shadow betting with as many combination of runners as you would like.

I have also added a video for you here.
